Two football teams trying to win the game, going at it hell for leather, and the best team won. Couldn't have happened without Gillingham's positive contribution, and after 20 minutes I thought we were going to get battered, but once we scored we were the superior team and the result reflected the performance. George Smith won MOTM and fully deserved it, he was superb, but so was Wabara. Can't remember a time when our defence looked so balanced. And a word for Ben Pearson. Brilliant today. If he continues to play like that then I'm going to have to eat my words. Well done lad, keep it up.
Agree on Pearson though I have no idea what he really did differently. Something just seemed to work for him but I don't know what
I'm going to make you feel like **** now, but I've had a few beers so I don't care. Young lad that goes with us has cerebral palsy, so we've got to walk slowly, because, well, you know. Yes, I am that low that I will use someone's disability to score a few points! You'd never know actually, he's a terrific kid. Next time you come over for a chat, ask him a question about absolutely anything. He'll blow your mind.
Read this. And the links it gives. http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/cerebral-palsy/Pages/Introduction.aspx The lad in question is very much on the mild side. I'd known him quite a while and not noticed there was any problem. He's as bright as a 100 watt light bulb. A bit too bright sometimes and you forget he's so young. My wife's uncle also has cerebral palsy, but it affects him much more. He doesn't have any learning difficulties but he's confined to a wheel chair and his speech is slurred. Having known him a long time I can understand him perfectly, but a lot of people struggle. The health care profession predicted he wouldn't live past 30. He recently celebrated his 60th birthday.
Cheers may I'll have a read. There's nothing better than hearing stories of people who have proved doctors wrong is there. If there is a person on the planet who doesn't hear of things like that and smile then I've yet to meet them
I stopped because we just passed the rest of our crowd. If you want a walking competition, I'm up for it, it's the only thing I do well. I own a border collie and we walk at least 12 miles every day.
