Will be a joke if they get re-elected into the Premier League.

Sounds as if a few clubs are going to vote against them, hopefully enough.

They ought to have to play a game v's the best non-league team. It's the only way for it to be fair. A team goes bust and therefore shouldn't be granted a place above many others, in a league system with no way to get in other than election.

I can't see the clubs voting for a massive loss in revenue. They will be in PL.

I heard a report on the radio that said the most likely outcome was that they would be re-elected to the Premier League once the new club was formed but they would be immediately relegated to the first division. I know the majority of fans of other clubs want them relegated and have threatened to boycot games if chairmen don't vote for relegation. Personally I think they should be relegated to the third division at the very least but I don't think it's very likely. Another opportunity to show football has some morality is lost.

So not only will the clubs take a massive hit in revenue due to Rangers not being in the SPL, but fans are not going to turn up to watch their own team as well?

They might as well pack it in now. The lot of them.

The fans have only threatened a boycott if their clubs chairman don't vote for relegation. I admire their stance, they know losing Rangers will cause pain but they will sacrifice one of the two biggest clubs to do what is right.

You'd have thought that the open competition for the second Champions League place would be a big enough incentive for the other Scots Prem teams to vote against the NewCo.

i agree, how is any so called big team ( board/chairman) going to learn that there are consequences to their actions and they will be adhered to, not just to teams like ragged-ar5ed rovers, and useless united but all teams equally.

Only gets you an early qualifying round. Doubt it makes up for the loss of rangers.

I also admire their stance, but I think it might be their downfall.

For that 1 club that will get in to the Champions League qualifying (then lose), the rest will lose major income in ticket sales and television rights.
