watched them twice and they are so open at the back, Klinsman obviously taking his tactics from Ardiles, all out attack, only without the quality to back it up. We play our best football against side that come to attack us, I think we could be in for a classic....
0-0 and penalties then.
Watching England is just like watching tarn last year. Nice football, struggle against defensive teams.
Carrick in front of back 4, let Gerrard and Lamps push on. Lennon in floating role, drop Beckham. Despite his cross last night.

The exciting thing is we have options. take yesterday, Sven had options on the bench to change the game when it wasnt going our way. the only thing that could stop us is tiredness. Terry, Gerrard and a fully fit Rooney would walk into the Brazil side. There 70,000 fans there now, imagine if we make it to the semi final......
RE: The exciting thing is It's Svenis's use of his subs that worries me. Yesterday he got it spot on - more with Lennon than with Rooney imho. Tho Rooney's mere presence on the pitch seemed to lift us and unsettle The League 1 team we were playing.
I was saying same that it's like watching Barnsley....in both games the same faults and complaints have been ones we levelled at Barnsley. One or both of Lampard and Gerrard should be left out....both on a yellow card which means if they get booked against Sweden they'll miss the 2nd round game. Carrick in the middle with Beckham, Lennon on the right.
RE: The exciting thing is Rooney provided a link between the forwards and the midfield that we didn't have in the first half. Suddenly, we weren't resorting to long balls up to Crouch or diagonal balls to Joe Cole. The Lennon substitution was probably the most positive thing Sven has done as manager...why have a defensive right back against a team that refuses to attack? I don't think the performance was half as bad as the media would have us all believe. However, I still think we'll get outnumbered in midfield against the likes of Argentina,Portugal, Brazil etc.
So Gerrard could go and kick Lundberg full on in the knackers and it'd be reight ?
Excellent.

Cant agree with Hargreaves but Downing is there to protect Cole when he gets tired, and Owen had to come off cos he was off the pace, J Cole did ok up front. I think its a national pastime to criticise the England manager, we all have opinions on who he should play and who he shouldnt. For me, he hasnt done much wrong. All those saying he shouldve taken Defoe and/or Bent clearly dont understand the difference between Premiership league football and European/World football. How much Champions League experience have either of them got? Its a bit rich of Jol to pipe up about Defoe when he wasnt playing him for Spurs, and Bent looked shocking in the friendly. Walcott will benefit hugely from being involved in the England camp in a major tournament. How many managers wouldve stuck with Crouch after his first few games? Credit the guy, he's got more right than he's got wrong.
Wrong If they are on 1 booking it's wiped out....however if they have 2 the suspension still takes effect. Why do so many people, including the media, seem to have a problem understanding this?!
RE: like i said Hehe... Well, I said it would be an unconvincing 1-0 win so I wasn't that far off. We always raise our game against the stronger sides so I'm not concerned.
RE: like i said aye - you got it spot on. i remain confident. still think we can win it with a little bit of luck.
RE: Cant agree with Hargreaves Personally I think Defoe could cut it at International level - Bent tho no way.
Speaking as someone who isn't passionate at all about the England side, I'm quite ambivalent towards Svenis. To win the world cup we need world class players. I'll give you Gerrard, Lamps, Rooney, Beckham then maybe Rio and Terry. The rest are makeweights imho. Owen at one time, but his hamstrings are going to be a long term hinderance, never mind his current lack of match fitness.
The next poor sap's going to have the same problem. Although Lennon, Walcott, Carrick I hope progress as much as people expect them to.

RE: You should go to an England away game Think he's in a German techno-bird's sex dungeon at the mo.
Dunt get me wrong, come the knock out stages I'll be in the boozer giving it large, cos that's what I'm like.
Can't imagine feeling about England like I did when Colgan put his hand on that final penalty though.
