Really worried about any potential takeover

Above and beyond all else at Oakwell, I trust Patrick Cryne.

I trust him not to be daft with season ticket prices, trust him to get kids into Oakwell for future generations (free season tickets with adult purchases) and I trust him to do what's best for the club.

It makes me uncomfortable to think that a complete unknown, with no connection to us (and that's the really worrying bit) may be the ones calling the shots. Why is someone from Italy or Kuwait interested in Barnsley? Surely only for personal profit.

I don't want to be a killjoy - but I'm happy where we are thanks a lot

If these people whoever they are want to pump money into the club i cant see a problem. Why just because its us does it mean it's a bad thing? People don't like change but surely this investment can only be a good thing? The powers that be will have learnt a lot from what's happened at Portsmouth and i'm sure will be involved in making sure everything is above board with the takeover. I'm hoping it goes through and we get a chance to compete with the better teams in this division over the coming years. Look at teams like stoke and fulham who have spent a bit of money and gone up and prospered.

 

Stoke are owned by a lifelong fan though.

 

Just an example that money talks in this league.

 

agreed to an extent.stoke were well funded but not to the point of splashing out ludicrous transfer fees or wages. being prudently run whatever your income or backing is the only viable long term strategy.
