Reason for death of this board

Too many crap posters. Never been a massive poster myself but used to read this board intently, now I can't even be arsed to look at first thread. Problem is there's too many wind-up merchants on here, the reev being the main one. It's just attention seeking crap and there's no room left for decent discussion. There used to be a load of threads on here which were non-football related, about politics and stuff but that's been pretty much wiped out coz of arseholes like him. Look at the thread from the other day about the NHS, and he comes in with irrelevant posts about moving to Italy, spoiling a good thread. Sorry but until people like him are gone, the BBS will just go downhill at a faster rate than ever. They've already driven a load of posters away, Jay, EastStander, Fired, JLW etc. used to post multiple times a day on here, now your lucky if they post once. Get rid site admin or there'll be no one else left to wind up.

 

I thought the nhs debate was a good one and quite sensible compared to most of the drivel i post!!!

I love this board, but I was just thinking the same thing; it's getting clogged up with "look at me" posts by about 3 or 4 posters which are tedious almost to nausea.

It's the worst quality of discussion I've known here right now.

 

Like them or not posters like thereev and HT, who gets a lot of stick, keep the board ticking over by getting people posting. If you want this board to thrive you need to post more, like we all do, because it isn't any good without members logging in and starting or contributing to a debate. Some of those you mentioned still post regularly.

There is certainly some irony in somebody saying well I don't post much but I don't like what others are posting. At least they are posting.

 

Not really, I've never been the biggest of posters but got a few thousand posts. My point is that it's stopping the people that did post loads from stopping in my opinion. I just can't be arsed to read the ****e on here any more. I will post when I find something interesting to post on, not attention seeking threads.

 

So you need to post some interesting stuff. Problem solved then.

Agree with the OP in part. But start a debate, pick a non-football topic and START a good discussion.
I cant stand the poster you mention. He doesnt wind me up, I just find him a very lame WUM. He isnt even amusing. But at least he gets involved.
Id rather people stopped naming him, stopped replying to him, or added him to their ignore list. Then maybe he'd either turn into a BETTER WUM, or go away - prefer option 2 like.

 

TBF Wellsie a lot of that stopped (politics) after some got banned (I think Scott-tyke got permo banned).

 

totally wrong mate the real reason is as follows

it was almost as if we woke one day to find we had been moved..it was not very well publicised/advertised it was happening. Lots were left logging in only to find the old familiar slow board was gone.. and when we came to this we find a very clinical user unfriendly place that is just no way as homely as the last one. Some of the names you say have come ..looked ..and thought, no thanks. I have reduced my visits massively(however I have a wonderful reason in the shape of my recently born grandson 'Alfie')..and some of the other old stagers have totally given up. JLWBL is not that present but thats understandable knowing what has been going on in his life recently and the wonderful news about Laura.No ..I have to say sadly this is no longer the good ole BBS ..its a shadow..and a very pale one ..of the great thing that came before it.Gally did what he thought best due to pressure of the laser fast demands of kids...unfortunately he chose badly and gave us this wasteland of a BBS. Not his fault by any means, he tried his best.And now we have this desert of a board where if you can dodge around the tumble weedof the guests and the ghost towns of the actual members .....you may actually bump into someone in the wilderness.

I'd like to think that I'm still quite capable of posting utter gibberish. However, as you rightly point out, Laura and training to be Dodworth's Indiana Jones do take up a great deal of my time. Next week I'm training how to tackle Nazis with nothing more than a bull whip!!

Improving day by day, old mate. She had her first driving lesson today. It seems like only yesterday she was a baby on a life support machine!!

its only like this morning I scare her and was the villain about her hamster...which lead a few weeks later to the Dragon in a box and that poor blokes lager going all over the Outpost...is it really that long ago mate...I feel ancient suddenly.
