seriously. OK I know time has moved on . however I will give you a few names that IMHO if we had a similar set then we may do better.

lets start in 1966.. and go on

Ray Wilson and George Cohen, Fullbacks... impeccable, and way better than most I see today in ANY league
Now lets think of others in other roles .. Nobby Stiles.. 'Chopper Harris' .. Dave MacKay.. Billy Bremner.. Norman Hunter.. Vinnie Jones.. Razor Ruddock.. Roy Keane. to name but a few

should I go on. If we had been a player of their Ilk just to mark that little ***** .. he would have done nowt. Ask Mick Macca or OOH Gerry Gerry... put the t w a t over the touch line a couple of times and mek the fecker hurt... he then gets a bit worried... we have no real HARD BASTADS in the England side anymore... what we do have is a set of poseurs who wear , Beats, headphones etc and cannot give a toss ... I so feel sorry that John Stones is going to become just another PRIMMA DONNA like that lot of wasters tonight

Whilst I don't agree with your general point (I think the problem is lack of top-class quality), I think it's absolutely criminal that Suarez got through 90 minutes without one robust challenge. For me, game plan #1 would have been to make sure he got a few tough challenges in the first 10 mins.

Some might call that cheating, others cynical, but most teams in the world would at least test him out.

Lets be honest DT if we had tried to nobble him we'd have missed,

so in what you have said here ... you actualy have agreed

think about it... every team has a 'Star Man' no matter what level. league or competition... stifle that Talisman and you can have a hope to progress... All week the press has been saying that the little C N U T has been injured but could make it for the England game... the Knee injury was well publicised.. and we all knew exactly what was .. or had been wrong with the little C N U T. To that end I would have had him taken out within the first 15 minutes

and again ... if anyone thinks it does not happen... then I will say again to you all the word
    ... NAIVE
