ROB HAS A BOY !! Barnsley Football Club would like to congratulate Head Of Media Rob Knowles and his wife Kelly on the birth of a baby boy. The little one was born on Saturday 6th May at 3.03 am, weighing seven pounds fifteen ounces. Congratulations Rob Owen
Congratulations Rob and Kelly All the best from the Big Lils
congratulations Congratulations rib noodles Hope that the little one is doing well and overtakes you as the best speller in the house within the next 5 years.
On the negative side the club really should have a backup for when Rob is off, his wedding at an important time of the year was planned so the club shold have procedures in place and the last time i checked a baby takes 9 months to 'make' (someone had a fun honeymoon) so that can't have come as a shock to the club either. Perhaps a bit of forward thinking might help next time (from the club, not from rob)

RE: congratulations yeh thats what i was thinking. Got no problem with the fella being with the new born but someone else must be able to do a bit of typing
if I was in charge A meeting would have taken place during the week where we established that if we were at home first and it was on thursday then the box office hours and ticket details would be such and such, if we were at home first on friday then they would be this, away first then this, etc.
Then Rob would have been given the information so that he could write a story and have it on standby waiting to be uploaded via copy and paste (or even just ready to be made live) by himself (or somebody taking his place in case his baby that has been known about by the club for so long was born) as soon as it was confirmed when we were playing.
Either that or i'd have waited till after the game, realised that we have no replacement for rob, left it without doing anything, THEN had a meeting about ticket details, waited a while to decide everything and then maybe tell my customers what is happening giving us 2 hours left to sell out a stadium.

as is the fiasco that is Barnsley F.C and its marketing. They never seem to get it right. Did they not think that as soon as the game finished and we were in that everyone would be desperate to know. If huddersfield have everything sorted then it is obviously our end where the problems lay
