I was born and bred, or as they say in Barnsley reared, in the Rhondda Valley, South Wales. I supported Cardiff City F.C.
When my student days came to an end I married a Barnsley lass and have been here ever since.
With the Barnsley lass came a mother-in-law, every Saturday afternoon to our house.
My escape was to go to Oakwell and I became a 'true' fan -- home and away.
Then came the semi-final dilemma - who should I support.
Yes I went to Wembley.
My question is not who did I support but if you were in my position who would you have supported?

At a guess you are scared of your mother-in-law and wife so wouldn't support any team they didn't approve of

The winners

If you have to ask then the answer has to be .... the winners

I'm Blackpool born and bred, but I almost went to their playoff final and cheered them on. I went to very occasional Backpool games with friends as a lad and cheered them on and hoped they'd win, but never ever had a dilema when it came to a head to head. agains t Barnsely because I was never a Blackpool fan, just an occasional spectator.

If you truely supported both teams then you can't lose on that one.

Saw a bloke at Swindon a few seasons ago with half a Swindon and half a Hartlepool shirt sewn together

It depends on how true a Cardiff supporter you were

I am guessing you supported the reds

I found once I had my team who I watched since I was little I couldnt change

been to watch other sides - when I lived in Liverpool I watched them frequently but never got the same passion as I have for Barnsley. Which is why I still commute to see them from Surrey

If the situation was reversed and I lived in south wales I'd still be supporting Barnsley FC so I assume in your position I'd have stuck with Cardiff

got to be BFC

ive supported em since the 60's, also watched Morecambe since the late 60's but if the 2 meet then its Barnsley, also used to watch PNE and Blackpool as a kid as nearest games, but always made everyone aware that i was a Barnsley fan, in those days we were leagues below an all, been to both Wemberley and Cardiff with preston in the play off finals and each time wore my Barnsley shirt, got me into a lot of conversations and good banter in the pubs pre match etc
