45 minutes in and gave it up. The lead actor is mediocre at best and the story line just isn't very dynamic or gripping. Read the book by David Peace and that's even worse....................not a patch on Damned United. (N) (N)
Agreed, very poor ... .. was looking forward to it but a big let-down.
Too much mumbling, flashbacks etc -was Bean the killer in the end?, I couldn't workout what was going on

No definately DON'T DELETE! Excellent. I've read all four of the books which a brilliant but absolutely brutal. Only criticism I had of the programme last night is that it's not as dark as the books. Its not meant to be a jackanory, understand everything the second it happens TV. British TV at its best. Can't wait for next week!
RE: No definately DON'T DELETE! How authentic were the accents ?
Cos 'Brassed Off' it's cast and script writers should all be shot.

RE: No definately DON'T DELETE! I havent read the books and I dont expect to have to read up to enjoy my TV viewing thanks all the same, but it was boring self indulgent not quite arty *****.
Just had a bloke at work say it was the best TV he's watched in ages - absolutely brilliant. Shame my Sky+ fecked up then!
