Was just reading through an old paper. and it brook back memories that will never be forgotton

Former Eagle Neil Redfearn grabbed Barnsley\'s first-ever Premiership win with a 35-yard wonder goal, The stunning strike came right out of the blue as Redfearn ran from the half-wy lne before crashing a lefoot drive beyond Palace keeper, Kevin Miller

Redfearns rocket was an early candidate for goal of the season and it spelt misery for Palace, who would have gone to the head of the top flight for the first time since 1979 if they had followed saturdays heorics at Evero and won again.

Nobody could say the Tykes where lucky but they had more ta one hero. They refused to buckle under Palace\'searly pressure and after skipper Redfearns heorics, hero no 2 was undoubtedly Barnsley Keeeper\' David Watson he pulled of a string of first half saves and after the break he looked world class when he stopped Bruce Dyer\'s volley.

Watson Looked fortunate when he blocked a Simon Rodger Effort with his knees then Dyerwas out of luck again ten minutes from Time when he beat Watson. Onlyto see his shot cannon off the woodwork
and the kepper foiled the palace man oneore time in injury time.

BARNSLEY: Watson, Eaden, Appleby, Sheridan, Moses, De Zeeuw, Hendrie, Wilkinson, Redfearn, Bullock, Barnard.
