If it went to extremes with a new man in charge here is my view: To keep/who I think will re-sign with or without Davey: Steele, Foster (c), Moore, Hassell, Kozluk, Souza (as back-up), Campbell-Ryce, Hammill (hopefully), Anderson, Colace, Devaney (would release personally but got new deal - may be sold under a new manager), Hume, Macken, Bogdanovic, Adam & Noble-Lazarus. Sell for a few quid (literally) or release with or without Davey/won't stay: Muller (try for £1m if won't be a no. 2), Letheren, El Haimour, Van Homoet, Potter, Leon, Andranik (return), Butterfield, Heslop, Odejayi, Coulson, Mifsud & any others who must be crap if I can't even think of them! May seem like a radical clearout but we need to build a quality squad round the dozen or so quality players that should be left. In reality a few of those would stay either we couldn't get rid before start of the new season or they would be kept as further back-up. So we need another keeper happy to play number two to Steele, and one or two to cover in all positions, leaving winger as last to fill, concentrate and other centre half and players through the middle. Half a dozen signings needed then, ideally all with Championship experience. I don't see any new manager adding to our league of nations as much as Davey. PS - excellent news on my season ticket £20 cheaper next year. Well done Barnsley! Let's also hope the free U12 offer isn't abused again. Someone on my bus at weekend said they used a free one all last season - to me that is cheating the club. Those people shouldn't complain when the big money signings are forthcoming!
agree with most points ,pal but would let souza go he cant play with darren moore so must be surplus to requirements. and if andranik can get his head round the fact he aint good enough for fullham. would like to see him on loan for season
This is the most important factor for me!!!!! Yep, 2 many games (mainly away) we have rolled over FAR to easy & just don't dig in/get stuck in enough!!!
I had souza in clear out list but then thought Moore is pushing 36(?) and for now Souza with Foster if necessary would be ok as a stop-gap.
