Bit unfair calling Bobby a non-goalie, he is quality in nets.

Bad choice of thread title, I agree. What about "Reds Greatest Outfield Players Who Had to go in Goal Due to Injury or Dismissal"

Just surprised I can't think of any more over the years other than those 3.

I remember that game. Heinz Müller's 1 legged twin brother played in the second half instead of Stan.

Can you think of any more Kev? There must have been more than those 3 in the last 40 years or so.

Tony Bullock was quality. Lars Leeds tall as tree was a legent too (though, I admit not exactly a professional goal keeper), and I cannot forget Kevin Miller for a match at Palace away alone.

Norman Dean rings a bell somewhere but can't remember any more.

Maybe this is the time to resurrect the "Reds Best Left-Footed Right Back" thread?

    Re: John Collins

Correct. No point in asking about the best right footed left back. That would of course be a certain Mr B Hassell.

    Quiz Question on replacement keepers

At the end of the 75-76 season which first team regular was allowed to play in goal in the Northern Intermediate League Cup Final when Barnsley didn't have a fit keeper.

He was overage at the time so I don't know how we wangled it to be honest.

Other replacement keepers I've come across

Jimmy Seal replaced Gerry Stewart for 5 mins 22-Apr-72 Notts county H (Stewart returned after treatment)
Norman Dean replaced Brian Arblaster for 55 mins 7-Feb-70 Bradford City H
Dave Booth replaced Brian Arblaster for 56 mins 18-Feb-69 Bristol Rovers A
Roy Sawyer replaced Don Leeson for 76 mins 4-Feb-61 Bournemouth A

Finally Tommy Taylors Granddad took over from Joe Greaves in a FA Cup tie in 1896-7 at Lincoln
