Evening all. Does anybody know where I can find a definitive list of Barnsley home games that have been televised live? Cheers in advance.
I'd write to Sky they'll keep records of all this stuff, if you mention you're writing from an official BFC organisation they'll probably be willing to inform you.
RE: I'd write to Sky I would've done mate, but I've been put on the spot at the 11th hour to write a piece for the programme using the live TV angle and it's got to be in by noon tomorrow. Joy of joys eh? I'd email 'em, but I doubt they'd respond in time. I'm up to speed on matches since the mid 90s. But apart from the liverpool FA cup tie in '85 (itv sport?) my memory is a touch hazy. Any help would be appreciated.
RE: I'd write to Sky There were occasional ones on ITV prior to Sky, but they were always regional, Yorkshire TV had an home game against Grimsby on, cause I was on nights and took the opportunity to get up at 5 to 3 (or whenever kickoff was) and watch on telly instead of going to the game. And also the ITV Digital fiasco. We used to be on at home far more than away, used to piss me off as we never seemed to get selected for away games.
Heres a list I started putting together last year. Its in no way complete and mostly taken from videos I have in my collection but I'm confident on the 1996-2000 content but sure I've missed a few since then. I notice the Grimsby game mentioned by Eaststander is not among it but I vaguely remember a 1-2 home defeat being televised circa 1993. 2006-07 6/5/7 West Brom Away 0-7 Sky 2006-07 26/2/7 Stoke City Away 1-0 Sky 2006-07 2/2/7 Cardiff City Away 0-2 Sky 2006-07 8/12/2006 West Brom Home 1-1 Sky 2006-07 22/9/6 Preston N E Away 0-1 Sky 2005-6 Swansea Neutral 2-2 Sky 2005-6 Huddersfield Away 3-1 Sky 2005-6 Huddersfield Home 0-1 Sky ?? 2005-6 Nottingham Forest Away 2-0 Sky 2004-5 Bradford City Home 2-2 Sky 2004-5 25/3/2005 Luton Town Away 3-2 Sky 2001-2 Sheffield Wednesday Home 3-0 2001-2 Preston N E Away 2-2 2000-1 Crystal Palace Away Sky Millar penalty save 2000-1 Portsmouth Home 1-4 2000-1 27/10/2000 Preston N E Away 2-1 ITV Digital 2000-1 Sheffield United Away ITV Digital 2000-1 10/9/2000 Fulham Away 1-5 1999-0 Ipswich Town Neut 2-4 Sunderland Home 1998-9 Spurs Home 0-1 FAC 6th 1998-9 Stockport Home 1-1 1998-9 Port Vale Home Sky 1998-9 Huddersfield Home 7-1 Nottingham Forest Away 0-3 1997-8 Arsenal Home 0-2 Norwegian 1997-8 8/3/1998 Newcastle United Away 1-3 1997-8 Manchester United Home 3-2 1997-8 Manchester United Away 1-1 1997-8 Coventry Home 2-0 Sky 1997-8 Sheffield Wednesday Away 1-2 Sky 1997-8 Chelsea Home 0-6 Sky 1996-7 Sheffield United Home Sky 1996-7 West Brom Home 2-1 Sky 1996-7 Bolton Wands Home 2-2 Sky 1996-7 Huddersfield Home 3-1 Sky 1992-3 13/12/1992 Newcastle United Home 1-0 Yorkshire Sheffield United Away 0-0 Yorkshire Green Shirts Sheffield United Home 2-2 Yorkshire 1992-3 21/3/93 Sunderland Home 2-0 Yorkshire 1992-3 16/8/1992 West Ham 0-1 opening day 1992-3 12/4/1993 Tranmere Rovers Away 1-2 Granada 1984-5 Liverpool Home 0-4 ITV
