BARNSLEY boss Simon Davey has revealed he might be hard pushed to keep Brazilian playmaker Anderson de Silva at the club.

De Silva, a favourite with Reds fans, has already been subject to two bids from fellow Championship club Bristol City.

But although Davey has rejected both he admitted: "Every player has a price, so we'll have to see what happens.

"I don't want to lose him, Anderson is an integral part of our team.

"Bristol came in with a bid and we rejected it - and then they came in with an improved offer, but that bid was not accepted either."

Davey has made no secret of his desire to sign Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam, a player who has impressed both in Scotland and while on loan to Blackpool last season.

"We've had one bid rejected, but the process is ongoing," added Davey. "We've had plenty of conversations with Rangers but it takes time and we're still talking.Unfortunately we've not found that magic number yet. We'll keep trying.

"We had him (Charlie] monitored in Scotland and then he impressed me when he played against us for Blackpool.

"He's only 23, played for Rangers and I believe he's capable of a lot of success in our division."

    Boo - Davey out.

Shouldn't sell for less than 10 million. Cryne out.

Why haven't we bid 6 million for Adam just to sort it? It's all a smokescreen, we're actually after a Lithuanian 4th Division sweeper to play in midfield.

    Or summat.

If we are going to sell Anderson to them we should demand cash + McIndoe

Sound's like Davey wants to keep him but it's inevitable they'll come back with a 3rd bid and get him.

You know the financial capabilities of both clubs then ?

What if Anderson wants to go ? The power is with the players these days.

Mind, it's all academic because whatever happens is Davey's fault isn't it ?

For ****'s sake I meant in terms of the stature of the club - as I recall they did nothing last season (only nine points more than us) so on the face of it it's hardly an ambitious move. If it was Reading or WBA I could understand and accept it.

No idea what their financial situation is but I'll stick my neck out and say they won't be able to make him an offer he can't refuse.

    You live in a dreamworld

Bristol City are a much bigger club than Barnsley.

    Why should we demand McIndoe?

Good point we should be scrapping with Scnuthorpe and Blackpool for the bigger club's rejects

The again we have no right thinking we can compete with a club like Scnuthorpe

Yeah I don't see what's so big about Bristol City. Even Brian Howard didn't want to go there. They didn't finish that much better off than us, they aren't as well known as us for being a championship level team and their ground is *****.

You are a jinx so any chance if he leaves you can change your username to Odejayi9 :D :D :D

I think Bristol City could be big spenders this summer ....

There are rumour of a big-money exit for Elliott and one or two others as well. They seem to be lining up some good quality replacements, but I would think it will depend on their getting their income first. Sounds as though they already have agreed their sales, if they are bidding so openly. Watch this space. I think Anderson could make the move and for a good price for us. If he does, the Adam deal should click through as well and, if we wheel and deal well, there could be some spare cash as well.

Stir the pot, Simon. 'Hubble! Bubble! Toilet trouble!'
