Reds say no to Ville deal BARNSLEY have dropped their interest in Finnish striker Ville Lehtinen. The 27-year-old was to have played for the reserves last night at Port Vale. That game was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch and Barnsley caretaker manager Simon Davey has confirmed Lehtinen, who was once on the books at Sheffield United, would be heading back to Finland unless he could arrange a trial at another English club. Meanwhile, Davey and his staff are trying to arrange a friendly this week for players on the fringe of the first team ahead of Saturday's game at Leicester City. Former Barnsley target Danny Cadamarteri is set to have a trial at Leicester. The ex-Everton, Bradford, Leeds and Sheffield United striker is currently without a club - despite representing Grays in their Conference match against York on Saturday - after serving a six-month drugs ban. Leicester manager Rob Kelly said: "Danny is coming to train with us and we will take it from there. Nobody loses anything. " I knew Danny as a younger player when he was at Everton and he had potential. He is a little older and more mature now. "He is just a player who is available and who we will have a look at." Cadamarteri, aged 27, also recently trained with Championship rivals Barnsley and League One side Oldham. He was wanted by sacked Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie. Barnsley midfielder Colin Healy is back at Oakwell after his loan spell with Bradford ended. The 26-year-old made four appearances for Bradford during the loan spell and would have played for the reserves last night at Port Vale. n Reports today say that Hull City have opened talks with Iain Dowie about their management vacancy following the sacking of Phil Parkinson. 12 December 2006
