BARNSLEY ARE SET TO SIGN ZAK WHITBREAD FROM MILLWALL, ANDY GRAY FROM CHARLTON AND ADAM HAMMILL ON A SEASON LONG LOAN FROM LIVERPOOL.
WHITBREAD HAS THIS WEEK FAILED TO AGREE PERSONAL TERMS WITH PETERBOROUGH AFTER THEAMERICAN INTERNATIONAL HANDED IN A TRANSFER REQUEST.

RE: So the question is We do need another CB of that standard though. Has to be competition and cover. I don't reckon Potter is up to playing CB yet, so that leaves Bobby, who we need at RB. Hopefully we will get Thompson, although we haven't seem him play CB, but even then we could do with another.
Would be well impressed with these signings, personally i would drop moore or alternate them both with foster in al the time
So in the transfer negotiations we say to Zak Whitbread.. We see you playing every game, alternating with Darren Moore???? Hed be back down Grove Street before you could say Squad Rotation!!!!
"can't match Blackpool's terms" Assuming this is a reference to Adam. Has anyone thought that he signed for them over us, not because he was offered a better deal but for other reasons, especially seeing as he was on loan there. In fact, who even knows whether we even got as far as offering him any sort of terms. And if we did drop out of the race before this, I would assume that not being able to afford him was not the reason.
Perhaps a two year dear for 500k and big wages is a big gamble as pointed out - after 10 months be asking for improved terms or be looking to go on free season after - we did right
Wasn't referring to Hammill mate, was just making a point that just because we lost out to Blackpool for Adam's signature, it isn't necessarily because we couldn't match their terms - very unlikely that it was because of that, or so it seems to me. Didn't look like Davey was particularly interested after he rejoined the Rangers squad last month, though of course we'll never know for sure how far negotiations went with the player, or more likely his agent.
I was just wondering why the Blackpool connection wasn't being touted as a reason for the Hammill deal dragging. He was certainly well received by their fans when he went off against them at Oakwell.
more chance of platting **** i'm afraid. Closer it gets to saturday the worse I fear for the season and i'm not a negative person as a rule.
