I will be watching the following three in particular, will be fascinated to see them again, either way.

1.The free kick for City's opener, it looked so innocuous, surely the ref had to be sure to give it in such a dangerous position?
    2. The keeper catching the ball and looking suuspiciously out of his area.'
    3. De Silva blatently being grounded only yards out during a corner, straight after the ref had just talked to both players. I'm convinced it was cast-iron.

Stand to be corrected of course!

    They are 3 key ones

And to my obviously biased viewpoint he got all 3 wrong

Especially when you consider how many fouls on Macken in particular went unpunished the other way

Having said that I souldnt really tell for the out of the area one

Ref also couldnt wait to get his red card out for Kozzie - but let them go through the back of our players a few times without batting an eyelif

    1. The foul was bought and paid for by Foster, he ran in to the back of him and and he went down like Monica Lewinsky.
    2. i was sat in the east stand lower and the keepers stud marks were outside the box never mind his hands.
    3. Too many bodies in the way for me to see, but the referees a banker chants earlier may have influenced him.

it was amazing the only fouls against us that he was willing to give was ones in our own half - in Coventrys half forget about it he wasnt interested!

I think he must have been blind to the colour of fouls against players in red.

Totally ruins games when the ref treats one team biasedly and with blatant disregard for other.

And on more than a couple of occasions he blew up when there was blatant advantage to our defenders carrying on in posession.

    2. His studs definately were, but his other foot may not have been and the ball? No idea!

    My view

I thought it was a foul by Foster, but possibly with some backing in as well so possibly 50-50.

Westwood DEFINITELY handballed outside the area and with our player going for the ball it would surely have been a red card.

Not sure its a red card

It was the side of the box and there were defenders around - definite yellow though.

But I can accept incompetent refereeing - biased refereeing really pisses me off and thats what we had today

    I think Foster (wrongly) assumed

that the ref wouldn't blow when he barged into the back of the Coventry player. Hassell had been similarly flattened moments earlier - and THAT one had gone unpunished.

It did look like their goalie collected the ball outside the area. In fact, every time he kicked the ball out of his hands, he strayed outside the box.

Anderson gets involved in "penalty box tussles" nearly every home game - and he needs to sort himself out. It's becoming tiresome.

Add to the fact they were aloud to roll the free kick back 3 yards

the alleged foul was on the edge off the box and what happened to all the time added on a goal a sending off 6 subs and 2 of covs players playing dead 4 minutes my arse.

My honest opinion on the 'Westwood handball'...

I thought (although I appealed, admittedly) that the ball was just in the area, although Westwood stepped out by a good foot. The ball being in the area, obviously nullified him stepping outside the box and looking as if he had handled outside.

Pretty sure that the ball was outside, would like to see a replay.

As soon as I saw on the teamsheet that he was the ref I knew we had nothing to come

Whenever I have seen him officiate one of our games he has ALWAYS favoured the opposition. He ******* hates Barnsley with a passion - very much like George Courtney.

I'm not saying he's a bad ref because i've seen him on TV and referee quite well at times, but it's simple that he hates us - and like a previous poster said, he couldn't wait to get the red out for Kozzy. I know he deserved it but you could just tell he did it with pride. Kozzy was a fool but I reckon it was out of frustration at the inept performance from the ****** Tanner.

Yes, we were **** and didn't deserve anything - but when you get a moron like him in charge it must be demoralising to the players knowing whatever they do they simply won't get a decision.

The linesman on the East Stand side was a joke too. 1st half I think his arm had a drink of red bull pre-match. 2nd half however I think he forgot to bring his flag out.

It's hard enough playing 11 men as good as Covvy played, but when the ref and one lino are so biased you are effectively playing against 13 men.

Kozluk did it out of frustration with himself not tanner

he was playing like it was a friendly walking up the pitch while a player who actually put a bit of effort in ran past him and took the ball off him so in a moment of sheer immaturity he decided he was getting that ball back at all costs and lunged in. Nothing to do with the ref, it was all because he'd just been embarrassed by a player with some desire
