And he's wearing a Dutch shirt and giving a Nazi salute, quite the contradiction. Feels like a wrong un to me.

It's a political appointment, he's German and representing the host nation. Nowt to do with his capability, which is dubious at best.

Who to say one of our players bets on us to lose! Betting isn't a problem for Southgate or he wouldn't have taken a certain striker with the squad.

Massive difference between a player betting on a game he isnt playing in to a ref taking a bung to fix a result of a game he is refereeing though

    He has history with Bellingham.

The England midfielder Bellingham was fined by the DFB after he referenced Zwayer’s involvement in that scandal after a defeat for his former club Borussia Dortmund against Bayern Munich in 2021.

In 2005, Zwayer was involved in the match fixing scandal which centered around 2. Bundesliga referee Robert Hoyzer, who took bribes to fix several matches which he officiated. Zwayer assisted him in a match and accepted a bribe of 300 euros to avoid critical scenes for Wuppertaler SV. In January 2005, he and three other high-ranking referees informed the DFB about Hoyzer's match fixing. He was subsequently banned from refereeing for 6 months, a suspension that was kept secret for several years until the German newspaper Die Zeit published a secret file from the German FA.[2]

    Critical scenes ?

He wasn’t banned for fixing the result and he wasn’t refereeing

This is the sort of thing you can see people for years talking about if we get beat.
    Let’s hope not

Tbh mate I find it hard to believe he's still in the game. It appears he reported it. But felt he had to take a bribe himself. For a fear of reprisals. ? That's how I read it anyway.

Not sure what you mean tbh. Why political. ?
Pretty sure there are other German refs capable. Without bribe written all over em.

I'd stick with the bribe ref. He'll be dying to clear his name or make a name for himself again. Might help out the English.

He might favour the Dutch. Or the biggest bidder lol.
Tbh Stephen. I think this says more about those in authority at EUFA and/or the German football association. For putting this man in charge in the first place. Knowing full well the outrage it would cause.

Got history with Bellingham who criticised his performance after a game saying something along lines of ‘that’s what you get when you have a ref who was banned for fixing run a game’. Got fined by German FA for it.
