Thanks to @Merde Tete for naming the Golden Kettle and @troff for suggesting the Comparatively Competent Cup.

The BBS 2023/2024 Golden Kettle award winner is...

Peter Wright, with an average score of 1.64 out of 10, for his performance away at Leyton Orient.

The BBS 2023/2024 Comparatively Competent Cup winner is...

Martin Coy, with a respectable score of 7.25 out of 10, for his display at Burton Albion on Easter Monday.

The refereeing performance of the 2023/2024 winner is...

Sunny Gill, who's score of 7.78 away at Horsham was the best refereeing performance of the season. He only finished in 22nd place however overall, due to an average display at Cambridge, and a poor showing at Blackpool, one of the worst performances of the season.

I've put the full table below. Probably the only season I'll do it as it was tedious working all the scores out. I'd often leave it about 7 games then do a load at once which didn't help either.

    Have a good summer everyone!

Thanks for all your hard work on this @Archey . I really hope you reconsider not doing it next season - it's been one of the highlights of the board for me. I think it's allowed us to at least try and take off our red-coloured glasses and look at the refs' performances through objective eyes - a very tricky skill where football's concerned, but a useful one nonetheless.

    Golden Kettle. Love it!

Anybody who wins three should be formally awarded the Gary Willard Memorial Teapot.

Thanks for doing this, it gives a great opportunity to criticise or even sometimes praise the officiating of a game and explain why in the same thread. Shame those who give extreme marks, either 10 or 0 and don’t give their reasoning why, particular those who mark 10 when vast majority are really low marks. Really appreciated thanks

Thomas Parsons deserves an honourable mention with two separate really good performances

Thanks from me as well - it was a really interesting idea. I can appreciate its quite a lot of work but it would be great if you ( or someone else) carried it on next season. Im not volunteering though

I'll do an excel sheet to calculate all the scores if you want to do it again. Let me know.

PS can we count the performance of Sunny Gill at Horsham as the match didnt stand. Ironic the best ref was in a game we broke a major rule

Great work all season Archey. I really think we should know who scored the 10s that appeared most weeks though. If you can’t take this seriously you shouldn’t be allowed to play!
