How can a Premiership referee play an advantage, and then change his mind ten seconds later because the goalkeeper maade a **** up?
Clearly he made a '**** up' he waved play on, their Goalkeeper thought it was offside and came out to take the kick, thinking the ref had stopped the game, which he had not.Richards promptly lobbed it in the net. Since the wave to 'play on' he had not stopped the game for any reason and there was no linesmans flag. Why this was not given as a goal I can not understand.
i cant understand it either.
he clearly waved play on, richards scored and we should have been one up.
bloddy premiership refs eh? ar dunt know!

There was definately an offside flag Richards WAS given offside by the linesman. Halsey waved play on, but the goalie (incorrectly) thought a free kick had been awarded. He should have played to the whistle, but he merely pushed the ball back towards Richards, who passed it onto the empty net. As I understand it, the ref should normally play an advantage unless the attacker makes a move towards the ball. From where I was sitting, Halsey SPECIFICALLY looked at Richards and told him to carry on and close down the goalie. This certainly gave me the impression that he had over-ruled the linesman (rather than merely trying to play an advantage).
He was definatly offside when the ball was played it was a good descision by the liner, i stopped watching as i thought it had been given, couldnt understand why richards kicked it at the goal, although if the ref waved play on then that is a definate mistake by him

RE: He was definatly offside when the ball was played The way I read it the liner gave offside but the ref waved play on cos the goalie had the ball. The goalie rolls the ball out for the free kick and Richards knocks the ball in the net Ref changes his mind and gives the offside.Ref and goalie both wrong but the ref was right to change his mind.
The ref without a shadow of doubt
Indicated clearly to both Richards and the keeper to play on. NO whistle was sounded.
Goal.

RE: That's how I saw it,but I think it's one of those where it was "less problematical" to rule out the goal.
