Soft free kick for their first just cos their players had a paddy about him not playing advantage 2 minutes earlier.

Wouldn't let Reid back on when they got their second. He must have been trying to get back on for a couple of minutes too.

I thought he was poor all night. For them as well as us but the bad decisions cost us more.

Still think we need a defender with presence at the back though. A Taggart, McCarthy or De Zeuuw type.

    not disagreeing with you but...

we can't use that card all the time....

    ie,

"Played 7, Scored 13, highest in the division. Conceded 18, 7 more than anyone else"

referees are not to blame for all goals conceded. yes they may have a slant on how a game swings, but they don't stick the ball in the net for them do they mate.

Conceding 18 goals is purely down to ***** defending.

Our defenders all have qualities and are good in there own right, but there is something really amiss cos they can't play together. Maybe the midfield is not capable of providing the first line of defence, for example, our left side is *****, but you can blame devaney/macindoe cos they in no way provides the first line of defence (maybe a bit harsh on McD, but Devaney definately doesn't). Hecky and williams, although not world beaters, are perfectly capable if they have adequate cover in front of em.

Can't really put my finger on it, but something defence wise is clearly not good enough.

WELL..I have to fully agre here Nez.....and also

I do not think Kay is a defender at all. I saw him first play in a pre-season friendly at Bristol Rovers a number of seasons ago..IN MIDFIELD..and both me and "Le Dent De Crolles" agreed he was a great prospect...IN MIDFIELD... move him up to midfield alongside Togwell and get a NEW center half is my opinion. This switch could work. Not saying it wll or wont, but Kay is a good player but just not a center back.

He played there against Rovers last season..

Well I believe that was his natural position....

but everyone at the club always see him as a C.Defender.

there was some confusion when Reidy first joined us too, his natural place was CD, but I am sure I recall he was started in Midfield...

So, maybe they actually start looking at where players natural positions are, and build from there...

Its straw grasping time this one though I think...

He certainly was - awful display.

The first three goals were all down to his poor officiating. The first was never a foul - he bowed to pressure from Burnley fans. The second spoke for itself - not only did he order Reid off but refused to let him back on for 30 seconds - by which time Burnley had scored. The third came from a free-kick taken 15-20 yards away from where the foul was.

Okay, we should have defended the situations better, and yes, Burnley deserved to win, but we were done by the referee too, as AR referred to in the press conference.

    Very funny yes

Seriously though, he was abysmal. As I said, it's not an excuse for losing or conceding four goals, but it doesn't help.

We deserved to lose at the end of the day, that's what matters most.
