I posted this earlier in the week. Also very well done to Keith for an extremely dignified response. Though whether he would have been quite so restrained had we not been in mid-table with little chance of going up or down is of course open to debate!
Integrity and ineptitude. I see he didn't bother to apologise for the penalty or his failure to get their timewasting under control.
Imagine the can of worms that would be opened up if a ref passed comment on every controversial decision made in a match though. And that's assuming he didn't pass comment on anything else off the record during his conversation with Keith. I'm sure as a ref having watched the DVD he knows full well what else he got wrong. No matter what other things went off, I'm genuinely surprised and impressed that he has publically acknowledged getting a major decision incorrect. It's something we need to see much more often, but the vast majority of refs would never do. Maybe having seen Mr Boyeson's admission more refs might be persuaded to follow his lead and be honest about their mistakes, which would only be a good thing. I'm not holding my breath though.
it is unusual and refreshing - especially as it was actually the Linesman who got it wrong Everyone makes mistakes so to be honest about it and admit it once in a while is good to see Wont be surprised though if he gets into trouble with the refs association for that though as refs are never wrong
