Got back in at 10.30 last neet still upset at the loss and Daveys lack of passion apart from the first 15 miniutes. My view was that we did okay but the players at times seemed as though they were not functioning as a team unit with people giving the ball away and moving out of position. Mattis i think can be a good prospect but at this moment in trime he is not up to the job, Hecky seems to be on a different planet, but i think the new lad from Derby playing alongside Kay would give us some stability at the back. Nads was his usual frustratingly brilliant with the goal and then due to lack of service along with Ferengie not as effective as they could be. Without getting to emotional Davey should be sacked or resign at once, my reasons are that 99% of fans do not want him me included, he has lost the total backing and can do nothing right especially when i heard his Radio Sheff comments on the game when he blamed the Ref, we lost by 3 clear goals, they were both nailed on penalties and yes Mr Davey you should look at the manner of the defeat when we could easily have conceded 8 goals from open play never mind the penalties. I am now apathetic to the cause of my team, a feeling which i have never had before almost to the stage of not caring if we win or lose, regular fans were we sit in the ponty now go and talk about anything through the games with the expectation of losing, this not what we should be doing but i think now that is the realisation that Mr Shepherd is unwilling to talk to fans and accept that he has made the biggest Business blundewr in the clubs history. If we do lose to Hull on Tuesday which i hope we wont!!, if Davey is still there on Wedensday, my season ticket will be returned to the club with a letter to Mr Shepherd and Mr Cryne.
Dont let this guy drive you away mate. We will be here long after he and Shepherd have left the club. I may get slated in saying this but Id welcome John Dennis back to BFC with open arms at this moment.
Slated Why ? His family took us from division four into the top flight, gave us a decent ground, amazing academy, consolodated us in the 2nd tier etc. He will always be a legend and a man who cut in half would bleed for our club.
Wouldnt go quite that far Thats the guy responsible for getting us into the complete mess we havent recovered from
He......... overspent i agree. But if he hadn't spent all that money we would have had fans complaining about a lack of ambition. Plus much of it couldn't be helped such has overloading high earners when we came down from the premiership. We have way more to be thankful of him for.
Also HIs cause wasn't helped by the collapse of ITV Digital & the bank refusing to allow us to use our overdraft facility. I dare say without the collapse of ITV Digital, causing a major income stream to dry up in next to no time, everything would have been ok.
I listened to the commentry on Radio Dee Daa and got the impression we did not play well. But thanks for your comments as one who was there and saw it all. I fully agree and have said so in the past few weeks. There is something lacking in the commitment. Wether it be because of Davey or because of the league position they find theselves in (when you are down you are down) I am sure he is out of his depth and although I would not advocate sacking him would bring in a senior experienced Manager.
RE: Wouldnt go quite that far Come on, that's a bit harsh. We all got caught up in the clamour to get back to the Prem. If we'd won the play off final at Wembley the gamble would have paid off and who knows where we would have been now ? John Dennis had one year of financial madness but a bloody good few years before that of sound financial managing of the club. Personally would have in back at the helm tomorrow. His PR skills were a darn sight better than Shep's as well.
But the club had assets worth way more than the debt He had offers of help from P Cryne which he turned down. No attampt was made to consult the shareholders and he mislead the fans - he took us into an unnecessary and very costly admin -now we club has no assets and a much larger debt. I cant help thinking that that could have been avoided. Dont for one moment doubt he is a fan of the club but I dont want him back
Its what happened in the run up to administration that is the reason he can NEVER be forgiven. see Farnhams post above and previous discussions on the matter.
RE: Its what happened in the run up to administration bang on spartacus,if it were up to me he would be banned from oakwell for life.
RE: Wouldnt go quite that far Ignore the numpties. Pat Cryne supposedly offered to bankroll getting Ashley Ward back at that time, if we had signed him we wouldhave been totally in the ****.
