The ironic thing is that they used to always taken the pee out of Blakey for being a bit square, behind the times, old fashioned etc. Yet he must have only been a couple of years older than them…………………'cor blimey Stan, wah, wah, wah' (Scarecrow laugh).

Blakey was 35 in the film!! Varney 55 ish and scarecrow man 39. The phrase " Big paper rounds" comes to mind.

 

It's a shocker but thinking about it yes, Blakey must have been in his 30s , early 40s max. On the Buses early 70s and he is now in last of summer wine where he looks early 70s. Jaysus, thank God I was born a few years later than that lot!
