how will the prices compare with the extortionate amount charged inside the ground? Last season I used to stand in the East Stand concourse before the game and watched with great interest how many people bought from the beer counter. I must say that I saw very, very few people looking at it, let alone actually buying. But at those prices it's hardly surprising. Same with the food counter. Have they kept the same catering outlets inside the ground? I'd like to know what the price of their beer will be this time.
We're still finalising the pricing at the moment but looking somewhere around the £2.50 mark for a pint of cold carling or acorn bitter or blonde and around £2.80-£3.00 for the more premium drinks such as Brooklyn lager, Koppaberg or Stella Cider (or Cidre). Food wise we'd be looking at doing a Percy Turner's Pork Pie with Mushy Peas and Mint sauce etc for around £2. We'll also be doing a free pie with a alcoholic drink offer via a voucher on a first come first served basis. More on this to come. I think that's pretty reasonable? Lindley's have got one year to go on their contract so I'd imagine their prices to be similar to last year.
Well they've been doing the food at Oakwell for 30+ years IIRC. Think the last contract might have been 5 years but I'm not 100% sure. My memory is a bit rubbish.
Yeah they've been in years, I worked on the east stand bars about 15 years ago and it was Lindley's then
That is superb value. The sooner Lindleys get the boot the better. I think Ben could apply pressure if this is the last year of their contract, but I won't hold my breath.
It's for Barnsley fans mate. There's a condition on the agreement with the council that it must be a members bar so as such you will need to be a member of the Supporters' Trust wether that be a fully paid up member or a free member. You can sign up to either from http://bfcst.org.uk/join you'll also be able to join on the door but why faff about, it's simpler to do it online before hand.
