Would really miss it if it went but what really needs doing to it? The lower tier is surely ok as the seats arent that old. Would the wall at the front of the upper tier be ok? If so surely a new roof and some new seats in the upper tier would do it. I cant see much point extending the size of it into Grove street (assuming they had permission) Im no builder but couldnt they get that done through the summer without causing too much disruption to ST holders? Anyone know exactly what the problems are with the stand?
yeah it just needs a bit of ply and a lick of paint and possibly one of those loo blue things in the blokes bogs and it''ll be like new.
We could just knock it down... and have a lovely marquee there with flowers and everything.
I might even have my wedding in it.

ever heard the phrase "you cant make a silk purse from a pigs ear"...? Demolish it...build a new one and fill in the corners....
Im just wondering how they are going to do it. There are over 2000 seats i think in the lower tier. Im assuming you wouldnt want to demolish all those perfectly good seats? The upper tier only holds around 2000. Why would we want to completely demolish it? Rip out all the wooden seats and replace the rotting roof. That i could understand but to totally demolish it and start again seems ridiculous. Are we aiming to make the capacity bigger? If so why? How often do we fill the ground?
It's made of wood That's the big problem. If it's going to be upgraded of course it needs knocking down. You silly sausage.
RE: It's made of wood two words...Bradford Disaster anyways it would probably be cheaper to demolish and rebuild as opposed to refurbishing it and dont forget the roof has asbestos in it....
RE: Im just wondering how they are the wooden seats are far nicer than the plastic pnes that stick into my knees.
RE: Im just wondering how they are I think a good general rule is it cost more to mess about with an existing building than to know the whole thing down and start again. You could only keep the lower terracing as the upper tier is all wood and you would need to completely reroof the the entire thing - its either keep patching up as is or start again - there isnt really a middle way
Town centre space.
Alreadyabout 220,000 visits by local people annually not including cup matches. If we're rebuilding there's some money to be made there.
