....... whether he can't wait to leave or he wants to stay but we won't pay him the same as the other top earners at the club (and personally I think it's the latter but he is being forced out) what have we got to gain by loaning him out now, to Sheff Utd or anybody else for that matter, apart from saving his weekly wage? We can't 'sell' him until January anyway.

If I was Patrick Cryne I would be making a statement along the lines of .

....."no players will be leaving the club until we stabilise our league position"

What it would really mean is

......... "I'm sacking Davey if we lose on Saturday and want to wait to see if the new manager wants Howard to stay"

At least then, when the new man comes in, we will find out if Howard really did/does want to go or if it was Davey that was causing the problems.

Makes perfect sense to me. Get on with it today PC please

I've got an aston martin DB9 in the garage

But I'll make do with my 15 year old mini metro. The Aston martin just doesn't look right.

What if he's given the club an ultimatum?

backing a player over the manager is lunacy of the highest order. Can you imagine what message that sends out to the rest of the players? Throw your dummy out and we'll sack the manager? Mental.

A 'board' should back the manager to manage, end of debate.

Well it needs to go to one of them expensive garages then. But you can't afford one of them so you may as well sell it.

The ones that have fallen out with SD are the ones who have their heads stuck up their own arse imo. They think they are better than they actually are. Basically if you dont give 100% in training you wont get picked. There's nothing wrong with that approach.

    Except...

it's the approach that keeps KO in the reckoning. Whuch sort of proves it don't work.

I would give 100% in training. On that basis I'd get selected for the first team.

I don't believe SD and BH have fallen out anyway.

Get on Strike Lad. Stand up to em

What if he hasn't given an ultimatum? what if he's said ...............

...... "my contract is nearly up, I want to play for Barnsley but I want to earn what some of the others earn at this club" ...... and this would not be out of order seeing as he was the captain, was the leading goalscorer and one of the best players at the club.

I didn't really want to re-open up the 'Brian Howard - whos at fault' debate, what I'm saying is, keep him if we are thinking of changing the manager, as there is no real benefit in loaning him out.

Obviously, if Cryne is commited to keeping Davey, regardless of our current plight, then Howard has to go asap, clearly they can't both stay with the club after what has happened

Unfortunately I find myself agreeing with S.M on this one

You have to back a manager over a player and that goes for any player and any manager

I still think you're a complete bell end though
