He tends to be either very good or very bad. No middle ground with him. You never know what sort of performance he is gonna put in.

I would agree, but Kay is also capable of some bad mistakes. But he does seem to have more consistent performances in his locker than Reid. I would like to see Hassell play CB with Nyatanga. Think Bobby has his best games in the centre and there is no denying that Nyatanga is a class above owt we have got. Problem is we are severely lacking in the full back positions so Hassell has to play there. With that in mind I think I would probably go with Nyatanga and Kay.

No chance. Nyatanga is far better than Kay. That is why he is a regular international and had a £1.5m price tag earlier in the season. We would be lucky to get £300k for Kay.

but what has that got to do with Kay being better than Reid?

I thought the discusion was about Reid and Kay, not Kay and Nyatanga.

    Are you for real?

Kay can be a right effing liability at the back at times, nyatanga has hardly put a foot wrong in a reds shirt! Me thinks you should take off those rose tinted specs owd pal! (NOOO)

That may not be a good argument if Kay were Welsh. From what I have seen of Nyatanga, he is a talented teenager, with some potential but at the moment that is all he is. He struggles against good strong forwards, almost as badly as Reid does and that was our problem yesterday, both our central defenders were hustled and bustled out of the game. The fullback situation doesn't help matters as we all know (except Simon). Maybe they were tired after Wednesday but that can't be used as an excuse.
