I know they're not popular players, but just wanted to make a point about Reid and Heckingbottom. Both these players get a lot of stick on this board and I agree they are not as good as other players we have and are probably not good enough at Championship level. However, the only reason we are at Championship level is because these players over-performed to get us promoted and over-performed to keep us in this division. They now find themselves either not in the team or at other clubs because they are victims of their own premature success. Their performances got us to this point and that foundation allowed us to bring in better players and move the club on. I just don't understand the personal abuse they get. If a player doesn't try he deserves everything he gets but if a whole-hearted player gets you promoted and then lacks the quality at the higher level then he deserves nothing but support for getting us to where we are.

Yeah completely. I just think its sad when someone like Heckingbottom, who always gave his all, leaves to a chorus of good riddance instead of good luck.

I personally don't believe that Hecko had that much of a positive impact...yes he played in the promotion winning side, but was he any good? I don't think so..

Hecky Will Leave With Best Wishes From Most Of Us

He was man enough to take a penalty in the play off final and he did always give 100%. Nobody could question his commitment.

To be honest its Reid I feel more sorry for because he's still at the club on a daily basis and getting the abuse. Although he's not a Championship player he always leaves everything on the pitch.

He has more personal qualities then the majority of his critics, plus he's made it as a professional footballer. Hopefully, this will stay with him when our 'fans' are quick to highlight his shortcomings at every given opportunity. I know who I'd rather be like.

    Reid Has It Tough

Since his sending off at Colchester, he's not looked like getting a game. That's disapointing when you look at how many we have been conceeding lately.

It is the same people who critisise lack of loyalty of players who want rid of our most loyal servants immediately things go wrong for them. As TFP used to say "Football is ****",
