Not reading all rest of the posts because no doubt they'll all piss me off.

Biggest disappointment today was the selection and negativity. Coventry were f.cking terrible. Just that we weren't much better. To start the game with a midfield consisting of a centre half, defensive midfielder on the right wing, a left back at left midfield and a player making his debut with no match practice and Tonge was mental. As soon as I saw it I was a bit nervous.

If we wanted to play that system, we could've easily had Smith in for McNulty and one of Cotterill/Done for Golbourne but there we go.

    Positives:
Steve Foster was an absolute hero today. Unbelievable performance. Blocked almost everything and dealt with both Platt and the other kid for 89 minutes. And I don't think the goal was his fault.
Davies worked his ballacks off on his own up front with absolutely f.ck all service.

    Negatives:
Jay McEveley - he's absolutely shot. I don't think he's as bad as people make out but he's lost it completely.
Scott Golbourne - needs a lot of work for next year.
McNulty - I just wish we played him at left back rather than trying to make him into something he's not.

I like Hill, but he got it fundamentally wrong today. Even when he brought Done/Cotterill on we didn't show any more ambition or width. If we'd have started with an intent to even try and win the f.cking game then I'd have happily accepted us losing. But we didn't so we got what we deserved which was f.ck all.

This doesn't mean he's a bad manager. And this doesn't mean he's the best ever. He's just good. But he's still got lots to learn - no need for the constant rotating, play players in their positions and we'll be fine. Got a lot of work to do in the Summer.

    Ureds.

What a great honest post. Just because we might like Hill it does not mean we can't say he got it wrong. Cos he did today.

Can't argue with that. Disappointing thing for me was that first 20 or so we were knocking it about comfortably, creating space and got it down the channels especially via Smith/Wiseman a couple of times, unfortunately the delivery into the box wasn't upto it. But then suddenly we looked terrified on the ball, players were panicking and were hoofing it, McNulty guilty a few times, and Coventry began to be the better team (and that's saying something - they were abysmal!).

Second half was diabolical. No possession, no creativity, no chances.

How McEveley was still on after half time, I'll never know. I would've put Goldbourne or McNulty at left back, look to move Smith inside and bring on Done or Cotterill. Then when we did change it and McEveley was still on. Mental. I don't like getting on players' backs, but he needs replacing immediately, he's such a liabilty. Seems to wander about aimlessly when defending and fails to ever pick out a pass when he has the ball, and I really don't get how Hill keeps picking him. With the subs, unfortunately neither Done nor Cotterill had any positive impact. At all. And Gray ended up in central midfield in the last 5-10 minutes.

I think we only had 1 shot on target today, via Tonge first half, and today for me, Keith Hill got it badly wrong. Coventry were there for the taking, they looked woeful and their fans had begun to get on their backs first half.
