Comments from an Independant observer sums up the current problem I’ve got to admit I fear for them a bit this season though. The team looks weak at the back and lacking a cutting edge in attack. They have few players of genuine quality and don’t look to have added too cleverly over the summer. The pre-season results are a worry whatever anybody says and Davey’s pre-match interview on the Barnsley site where he talks about his frustration at not getting international clearance for some of his players, and his exasperation at losing Campbell Ryce failed to convince me he really believed himself when he said they’re ready for what lies ahead. Alarm bells should always be ringing when a manager is talking about trying to tie up an eleventh hour loan deal before the season has even started.
