    Ankle problems. Also had a run in with the Law in his younger days at West Brom (2 year suspended sentence) and left Leicester under a cloud too.

    I'd jump at Gerrard or Paterson from Udders, although not sure if either would be in our price range.

    I live in Wales and on the local radio it was saying he's being released because he's been suffering injury after injury and barely played in his time at the club. Don't need to take on the risk.

    Goalkeeper Tony Thompson, 20, defenders Mark Bradley, 27, Richard Brindley, 22, and Mat Sadler, 30, and midfielder Rob Milsom, 28, have all been released by Rotherham (from BBC).

    Sadler's been a dependable left-back down the years. Could offer reliable support to George Smith.

    Gerrard has only just been on loan at Oldham and has been released by a pretty average Championship side. I can't see it being a problem if we wanted to sign him

    Sadler and Gerrard both have been on loan at Oldham. Is it possible they could have been on Johnson's radar before he joined us and signed for them anyway, just like O'Sullivan after Wilson left?
