I have a sneaky feeling that some of these appeals to Don Rowing to let fans in for a fiver or free for the Hull game are nothing more than the first of a two part attack on Don, the second being to blame him for defeat and relegation after not having reduced the prices, should we lose. As LDRed has mentioned elsewhere, if people don't want to pay £20 to attend the match, given its importance, then they are probably not interested anyway. I mentioned the other day that the loss of 1,000 spectators this season actually seems to have improved the atmosphere, as there has been very little booing, if any, even when we were rubbish. If we could guarantee that an extra few thousand fans would give us stronger support, then great, but we don't want a couple of thousand indifferent spectators who are waiting to get on their backs. And reducing the ticket prices has been no guarantee of a bigger crowd anyway. People would seemingly rather pay £25 to watch us play Manchester United reserves in a League Cup match. So instead of reducing the ticket prices, why don't we advertise that we are playing Man United? What we have got to do though is make sure that whoever does turn up gives the team their 100% support on the day. From what I have seen so far this season the regulars have been doing that. It just seems to be a few people on here who don't go to the games who have taken every chance to knock the team and moan. Let's get behind them!
And as Jay pointed out earlier last time we did a football for a fiver and filled the ground we lost to Leicester and the 12.50 offer we did for the blackpool game we only drew repeating myself from yesterday I want fans for who the game means something there on Saturday - if they arent committed enough to pay £20 for this game I'd prefer they stayed away - rather have 9000 committed fans than 9000 commited diluted by 6000 there for a good day out for a fiver
