Now we've all had time to digest Saturday's loss and results going against us elsewhere. Having looked at the remaining games for the chase for automatic promotion , I do believe we will still get 2nd as we do have the more " favourable " run in whereas Sunderland and Portsmouth have tough fixtures. Charlton have a mix as well. What do you guys reckon ? Barnsley Fleetwood (H) – 11th Shrewsbury (H) – 14th Plymouth (A) – 15th Blackpool (H) – 8th Bristol Rovers (A) – 16th Sunderland Burton (H) – 10th Coventry (H) – 9th Doncaster (H) – 6th Peterborough (A) – 7th Portsmouth (H) – 4th Fleetwood (A) – 11th Portsmouth Rochdale (H) – 23rd Burton (A) – 10th Coventry (H) – 9th Sunderland (A) – 3rd Peterborough (H) – 7th Charlton Wycombe (A) – 19th Luton (H) – 1st Oxford (A) – 12th Scunthorpe (H) – 18th Gillingham (A) – 13th
Sunderland might draw 3, which means we have to win all of our games to finish level points with them, whilst hoping portsmouth also drop points. Not too sure it's that tricky a run in for them. Burton and Doncaster's away form isn't great. Coventry, Peterborough and Portsmouth might cause them problems, but it's Sunderland's to lose now, and we'd be very lucky if they made a mess of it now.
Have to win every game to stand a chance I reckon. Which is a tough ask. And whilst Sunderland do have a tough run in we could slip up once and they could afford to lose two games. I think? I'm resigned to the play offs and a lovely day out at Wembley.
I said before Saturday that we needed 12 points (equivalent of 4 wins), to achieve promotion. I still believe that,if we achieve that and still fall short, then congratulations to the victors.
4 wins and a draw might do it, but I think really needs to be 5 wins. Personally think we may only get another 10 points.
