When he was saying how the players had saved people's jobs?

I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but re-signing all those players that were simply not good enough has put all that as a possibility again. THere is no room for sentiment and flickers heart ruled his head. He didnt think twice about ditching Foster yet the likes of Scotland and Mcnulty should never have been given another contract.

I wonder just how much money Flicker has absolutely pissed away this season on those and also on terrible unnecessary loan players like Fox.

I think the giving away of John Stones has been multiplied 3 x times by all of this.

Just shows how massively out of his depth he was and it now been left to Danny to pick up the pieces.

Im just thankful he's finally back home where he belongs and with Mansford and Watkins in charge, hopefully we'l never get ripped off with shoddy transfers again.

Well someone/some people must have sanctioned it all.

I think Flicker had them over a barrel and he knew it. And at the time if he hadnt got the job there would have been hell one with the fans. It was the perfect storm for him.

Fans though speak from a position of ignorance - I wanted him to have the job, and am still happy that Rowing has left the club.

There's two arguments - the manager was backed, as requested so how can you complain ? Or why isn't there a system of checks and balances in place to ensure things don't go awry ?

Look how many people bought season tickets on the back of flicker getting the job and how we finished the previous season. Everyone thought we were in for a reight season. As it turned out it was normal service resumed, flicker trying to change things, same poor players doing the same poor things and folk were just stopping going through it being terrible.

Looking back with a clearer view - the squad we started this year with is pretty much the one that finished 4th bottom last season, minus one of our most consistent defenders (Foster), replaced with a head on a stick (M'Voto)

What else did we expect ?

True, but then again it would have needed a new manager to do that...

To be fair, Flicker was on a high as much as we were in the Summer and he rewarded some of the players with contracts and released others (IMO he got this bit wrong by thinking about the budget too much).

This was his first real bash with a transfer kitty/ seasons budget and having to bring players in to what has become an unfashionable club wasn`t easy and he panicked and played his hand too soon especially with regards to Nyatanga when he later got M`voto ,a player he had been after, leaving Lewin in no man`s land. Brought in and kept too many development prospects also instead of utilising our own more as well.

Like EN says the money was sanctioned by the board and by the looks of it he was given all or most of the budget with little set aside for January.

I tried my best not to listen to any of flickers talk. If talking nonsense was a sport he would be undisputed world champion.

Unfortunately I did see that speech he gave to his special human beings, cringeworthy.
