Didn't he break his leg in the game that Sinclair got goal of the season

Fa cup it was, we lost 3-2 with the amazing overhead kick. QPR beat us 3 times that season. I belive it was Ex Chelsea playe rJohn Spencer that broke his leg.

The best centre half to pull on a red shirt in my time of watching the reds.

Probably the last footballing centre half we had too.

    Agreed. My thoughts exactly.
But are we sure this isnt the OTHER Steve Davis?? Because he nearly got Burnley gig before Howe. Not sure OUR Davis is even coaching tbh

The other Steve Davis is Owen Coyles assistant at Bolton, according to Wikipedia our Steve Davis is the manager at Crewe he's been assistant at the club since 2009 under Gudjon & Gradi. He was the manager at Nantwich before joining Crewe

Re: Didn't he break his leg in the game that Sinclair got goal of the season

I'm with Crazylegs on this. De Zeeuw was my hero during his time with us and is still the best defender i've seen in a Barnsley shirt (in the 20 years i've been watching)
Davis was very very good too, though. Wasn't his the only long term injury to hit the side during promotion season? Ady Moses stepped in and did a magnificent job.

I agree he was a good player, but he never really recovered from the injury. Which is a pity, as I reckon he would have done well in the Premiership with us.

    Proper Gent

    Genuinely nice bloke.

Would have loved him to have a shot at The Prem. The tackle that did him was an absolute disgrace.

John Spencer ? should've been banned for life.

Awesome player who could have played in the prem if it wasn't for his injuries. I wish him all the best at Crewe.
