Ego athletic would have been a better name A.F.C. Barnsley was established in 2003 as a football team to represent the town should Barnsley Football Club's ongoing financial problems become terminal. In the 2005-06 season, they were members of the Central Midlands League Supreme Division, but when Barnsley's financial problems eased, the need for another club diminished. A.F.C. Barnsley was wound up and being unable to complete the season, resigned with effect from 22 March 2006.
Whats you problem with them? They were set up to ensure that Barnsley had a team, if the unthinkable happened and we went tits up. I cant see any problem with them at all. (dunno)
