Laura e.mailed BFC c/o Mr Shepherd on Saturday regarding tyketalker and others not being able to get kids go free tickets. She has had a reply this morning from Don Rowling General Manager as the e.mail was passed to him. Dear Laura Your email for Mr Shepherd has been passed on to me for reply. As I am sure you are aware, three games have been designated to allow children of ten years and under into the game free of charge. The first game against Walsall in October highlighted a few problems administratively, basically because supporters left it until the last minute to claim their free ticket (ie ten minutes to three). It was therefore agreed that for the Colchester game there would be a deadline of Friday at 5pm. The tickets have been on sale for some three weeks and we do feel that we have been more than fair, particularly as this has been widely publicised. The game against Southend on 17th April is a bank holiday Monday and therefore the deadline for this particular game will be 12 noon on Saturday 15th April 2006. The number of complaints that we have received have been minimal. We will publicise again on our official website, what was confirmed to you in the email. Don Rowing General Manager
It was therefore agreed that for the Colchester game there would be a deadline of Friday at 5pm That was communicated on the website though was it???

I don't understand The official site has been saying for the last 2 weeks when the deadline day was. If people were unsure why not phone them. It was obvious to me when the tickets were on sale until. We complain that the club aren't clear with information, on this instance they have been very clear, then we complain when they won't bend the rules.
RE: I don't understand No the original point was that they were apparently saying you could collect up to 12 on Saturday, then changed it to 5pm Friday.
The other general point is the attitude some folk are met with when they want to do something other than a straightforward ticket purchase.
What BFC should bear in mind is that a lot of folk won't complain, they'll just vote with their feet and not bother again . Try getting 4 tickets together in Oakwell or getting a seat next to your mate with a season ticket. It's great fun.

Just printing off my contriution to the minimal complaints list 1. I check the boards regularly but had no idea unti Fri night re the scheme. 2. The club should be advertising this everywhere...we don't all live in Barnsley - I heard nothing on local Radio or in Sheff Star. 3. Still doesn't explain the appalling attitude of staff 4. Still doesn't seem right that the club can afford to turn fans away. I'll post any reply I get. I won't hold my breat though now I've read that.
RE: I don't understand I'm not commenting on the friendlyness of the staff, it's true on the whole it's bad. I don't remember the club changing their stand, when I've read the info it was always 5pm fri, unless i've missed it obviously.
RE: It said saturday when I looked... like I said I've never seen an advert saying sat. If i missed it then fair dos, but all the stuff on the official site that I read said fri, nand there was about six stories relating to it
This was copied from the official site... http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=23287&posts=1
They must have changed it later in the week...

RE: It said saturday when I looked... Alot of people (like me) don't bother with the main site cos it's useless. The only thing I saw was in the Chron - but that was Fri night. They should have had it Chron for weeks in the lead up. Radio Sheff - Nothing Sheff Star Nothing We don't all live in Barnsley... I missed it til it was too late & I'm on here at least 3 times a week - so I dare say a few others missed it too.
didn't see that at the time Has this been emailed to club, the copied text you have I mean. An appology needed from GS i feel.
