Got this reply to my message (cut and paste admittedly from someone complaining here yesterady that I agreed with) Mr *** I have discussed the content of your letter with our Chairman, Gordon Shepherd and we are somewhat surprised at your concern on the distribution of tickets for the forthcoming semi-final. Fortunately, we are in a position to assess the distribution as we have the information to hand in order to do so. Your comments have been noted for which we thank you. Regards Don Rowing -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: *** Sent: 10 March 2008 17:16 To: Don Rowing Subject: FAO Don Rowling Dear Mr Rowing, I urge you to reconsider the proposed arrangements before the end of the week-2 tickets per ST holder is ample-Ipswich tickets announced less than 36 hours before the game should not have any bearing on it. I appreciate that the club wishes to maximise sales but in doing this should not alienate loyal fans I look forward to your reply ***
No I might just write him a little email. I understand he is probably a lot more busy than normal right now.
That's cause you're a glory hunter. True fans get a preferential treatment Hope you don't mind me copying your mail. I'm sure you will get your very own condescending reply soon.
RE: That's cause you're a glory hunter. I'd like one which explained the rationale behind it -not just "we know best"-there may well be sound reasons for 4 per ST -if they came out and said-it's simply to maximise sales then at least we'd know-as it is it sounds as though they have some sort of sophisticated computer program which has informed there decision-which there isn't obviously
RE: That's cause you're a glory hunter. I agree. It's really hard to believe they are taking this line a third time.
He was that surprised, he had an automated response set up specially for all the people that wrote to him about it!
My more considered interpretation I amazed that you questioned my decision so me and Gordon had a laugh about it. Obviously I know best - as always - and it's a secret how I did it (there are much more important things to consider than just fans) Frack Off (BSG series 4 starts on April 8 - yippee!)
It's the easiest way for BFC to cope with sales and easier then thinking it through and problem solving beyond multiplying things by 2,3 or 4. I'm sure if they had a single wealthy season ticket holder who said, "I'm planning a massive party for my mates can we sort out 30,000 tickets in one hit" They'd pick that option.
