Dear John, Thank you for your e-mail. I can appreciate your frustration for, what you consider to be, inconsistencies in refereeing and disciplinary decisions. However, I must emphasise that cases have to be judged on an individual basis and we have to consider the challenge itself (in real time) and not simply the outcome of the challenge. We can not upgrade yellow cards to red cards after a match due to FIFA directives and therefore can only charge a player if we can prove 'beyond doubt' that he deliberately went out to injure an opponent. I think i've read that (or something very similar) before. It's beginning to sound like a broken record. (zzz)
Where is the respect Dear John indeed. The email came from Dr Warren. Yes - I hope there are hundreds of replies like this. Lets keep the FA busy and show them there are consequences
I asked them to confirm that Ben Thatcher had been found guilty of deliberately going out to injure an opponent. Haven't heard back yet.
