STOKE CITY 3 (Bangoura, Pulis, Rooney) BARNSLEY 1 (Healy) BARNSLEY'S reserves slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Stoke's Britannia Stadium despite a brave display against a vastly experienced City side. The Reds got off to the worst possible start as Stoke City took the lead with just seconds on the clock through Sammy Bangoura. The striker, who went AWOL from the Britannia Stadium in the summer, found his shooting boots early on when he beat youngster John Lukic to open the scoring. The young Reds battled bravely against a vastly experienced home side but could do nothing about Anthony Pulis second on 50 minutes as Stoke took control shortly after the interval. Rick Holden's side got a foothold back into the game just after the hour mark when Colin Healy bagged his first goal since signing for the club last month but Stoke ended the and hopes of a comeback late one with Adam Rooney's 80th minute strike.
