FFS Barnsley will not be in a proper league but they will still play games. But this way they can play when they won’t so they don’t after play first team Tuesday and the res that night too. They will now be able to play Wednesday and Thursday so they can play players who are on the edges of the first team.

    Thanks for that......

Some do agree with it and some don't feeling the fringe players aren't gonna get enough games.

It's called having an opinion, you might want to note that one down.

Well it's an opinion that is wrong..

..because they'll still get opportunity to play reserve games whenever the club want. It's not like the 'fringe' players hardly ever played in the reserves anyway.

There are no reserve team games next season.

The club will be playing games arranged for the development squad and can include fringe players or players wanting "game time" after returning from injury.

These games will be played behind closed doors so you won't have the opportunity to watch them even if you wanted to.

I agree with it all but what about the players who are told old for 'the development' squad?

Don't see BFC arranging games week in- week out for them, sounds like it's the new thing that everyone's doing a lately anyway- Wolves, Charlton and Newcastle all do it now.

    Nobody is 'too old'

So you think we're just going to be playing RNL, Adam, Sodje, Butterfield and Potter vs a team of eleven players every week? That'll develop 'em.

There'll be more a couple more 'development' players brought in and the team will be made up of the better academy players/first team players needing games.

Mex tyke I can remember going to watch the res when the first team played away that night and I think there was 2 players who trained with the first played. Andy Johnson and maybe coulson. Also butterfield played but he was still part of the academy then.

We used to play 'em a couple of seasons ago, because I used to go to a few. Last season though, besides the few games at the end where Rigters, Leon & Van Homoet played, I don't think there were many.
