I can but having just booked to have our drive done, later on in the year, we were talked out of resin due to it not being that hard wearing and being too ‘new’ to have stood the test of time.
We moved into our present house over 3 n half yrs ago. So I don't know when the drive was laid in IMPRINTED concrete. But park the car on it every day and still in excellent condition. Good Workmanship from what I've read is the key. Else it can crack, flake etc. But that applies to resin also. It says if maintained well. Imprinted concrete will last much longer.
We had imprinted concrete. Cost a small fortune and we had to have it re done as the finish was terrible. Even now their are very obvious flaws. In principle I would recommend it as a solution but definitely make sure it’s a recommended company. Ours was - and we only got them back cos the guy who recommended them went nuts with them when he saw the state of it.
As I say mate. It was there afore we moved in. So I havent a clue who did it. Same rule applies to most work of any kind carried out. By any tradesman or joe bloggs. I had a block paving drive done at my previous address. Sunk in no time. (Seems to be a common issue from what I've seen) But fortunately the vast majority of any kind of work I've had done has been of a high standard. I usually go on recommendation rather than price alone. Fortunately I also have friends and family contacts in most trades. Bro in law. when available master of most in the building dept. Son in some eg joinery. I return the favours on electrical side. Trouble is. Apart from mi son. We are reaching the age of not wanting to do the bigger tasks.
Looks nice, doesn't last very long. We were adamant we were having it, my cousin talked us out of it - he no longer does it, more trouble than it's worth. We've a fully rendered house an all, tell folk not to bother with that unless you live somewhere with very little rainfall and plenty of sunshine
As much as I'd like to mate. I avoid like the plague sorry. Just family as we help each other out. Another big issue . I'm not as mobile as once was. Takes me ages to get back up off the floor lol. I'm sure there are Domestic sparkies on here willing to discuss with you mate. I'm from the Engineering side. I know what to do, eng certs and regs qualified. Not Part P. certified though. You need that for certain installations to be signed off. (Never needed it) but hate the 1st fix side of things. Once again sorry.
Just to add that some resin drives are porous and some aren't. The porous types allow water to soak away in much the same way that block paving does. Worth knowing if drainage is an issue.
We considered resin, textured concrete etc when we took the block paving drive up. We ended up having tarmac with red brick paver sectioning it. Been down three years now. Best decision we’ve made. Solid, dependable and, if ever required, easily patchable with a cold patch kit.
