I wasn't there so unsure. A town fan I know has been very critical of our fans at the game, stating that sections of our fans showed disrespect during the minutes silence. Anyone there witness this?
I think some late comers, perhaps not realising a minute's silence was being observed, were making a racket on the concourse.
For some reason they had just one or two turnstiles open and were very busy searching fans upon entry. This meant many of the fans were still on their way into the ground during the remembrance service and so the silence was often punctured by noise.
I've heard similar at Oakwell previuosly. Some idiot shouting 'half time draw' at the top of his voice!
Load of rubbish. Just late comers in concourse who’d no idea what was happening. Who expected Remembrance minute silence on Oct 26th? We have some numpties follow us away I admit but this is one instance where our fans were not at fault.
They had three turnstiles open for 2k tickets and one turnstile open for POTD. Every time we've been there we've had a full stand for easy access. Our official site failed to mention that the way to get in was different to previous trips there. The queue to get in was massive as people had to stand in a line on the pavement that leads to the main stand. A sarcastic old fella was in charge of the mess and apparently they realised their **** up and stopped checking people to get them in quicker. The only noise during the silence was caused by how poorly managed Huddersfield looked after the away following.
Tell him/her to go to Oakwell on Saturday where they will no doubt see a minutes silence observed impeccably as per usual, at least by the home fans anyway.
It’s one thing we always seem to get spot on every year. Our remembrance game is always done very well and the chap playing the bugle is exceptional, assuming it’s him once again.
We didn't make it in until 5 minutes after kick off. Didn't expect the queue to be quite that long. Not the best welcome. Although I found the guy getting all worked up about missing part of the game quite amusing. Especially since he then spent 10 minutes drinking a pint in the "concourse" just before half time while the game was still on!
