Thank you for your e-mail regarding Radio Sheffield's 'Praise or Grumble' on 11 November. Please accept our apologies for the delay in replying. We know our correspondents appreciate a quick response and are sorry you've had to wait on this occasion. I understand you were unhappy with the discussion on a football challenge between Chris Morgan and Ian Hume, which resulted in severe injury to Ian Hume, and that you were concerned by the comments of the presenters. With such a programme the presenters are looking to raise talking points to generate interest from callers. This may involve playing devil's advocate to encourage more responses but I'm sorry if you felt the approach of the presenters was untoward. I would like to assure you that we've registered your comments on our audience log. This is the internal report of audience feedback we compile daily for the programme makers and their senior management within the BBC. The audience logs are important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content and ensure that your points, and all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered across the BBC. Thanks again for contacting us. Regards Stuart BBC Complaints
This may involve playing devil's advocate ?????????? .....eeeeeeeeerrrrrrr..........NO !!! The comments were intended by the BBC presenters to influence public opinion .................period, full stop The broadcast on the 10th and 12th were aimed soley at getting Morgan off the hook Little did they know at that time what the feelings of the Barnsley fans were against Morgan and Sheffield United All Barnsley fans should complain to the BBC about this. We cannot allow the BBC to take sides one way or another in a potential court case. Its up to you (dunno)
