I know its been done before but if anyone has any quick info that'd be great.

My cousin is visiting and my mum wants to take her out for dinner - she fancies a good chilli but is quite happy with anything of that nature (curry, chilli etc)

Anyone know any good, maybe new restaurants they could try?

Cheers. Doesnt need to be indian/spicy food, just any recommendations.

Or if you dont mind a little more distance

    Try Brighouse

The Street Restraunt - Pakistani food that is awesome. Try the downstairs Buffet , that way you can try a bit of everything. (Y) (Y) Highly recommended

Or just around the corner is Meze - Turkish reatraunt. Again definitely recommended (Y) (Y)

Really gone down hill that place. Used to go quite a bit, hadn't been for a while and went for my birthday in August. We were all unimpressed...not as much on the menu as there used to be, reduced choice in veggie options, poor beer choice - think it was Fosters or Smiths on draught for the pitchers....in a Mexican?! Only Mexican beer they had was Corona, they used to have Dos Equis and another.
And the music......you'd think some authentic style music, not Madonna and various dance stuff blurting out at a volume that made it difficult to hear what someone at the other side of the table was saying.

Sloanes on Drury Lane or Quo Vadis on Smyth Street - near Bollywood Lounge are both decent Italians, The Cow Shed on Northgate is good and does an early bird deal.
The Aagrah on Barnsley Road is still probably the best Asian (although I prefer the Raj Poot).
