A list here of all the retained lists in the EFL and National League. Hopefully ours will be released today as it seems discussions have taken place. There's some decent players out of contract in our division that we should be looking at. https://therealefl.co.uk/2025/05/05/efl-retained-lists-2024-25/
Conor said the same in his interview the other week about good players being out of contract this summer.
Not many on there that jump out as ones to go for? Not many clubs issued their retained lists yet to be fair.
What about Josh koroma released by Hudds? Worth a look or is he looking at a championship team or does he have an attitude problem?
Possibly worth a look but I imagine he'd be expensive wages wise. Hudds fans don't seem too upset he's leaving.
Interesting one is Santos at Bolton. He was one the standout centre backs in the division not so long ago. Has been their captain, player of the year and in the divisions team of the year. Still only 29, but only played half of their games this season, so maybe injury affected?
Does such a thing exist in modern football? Most centre halves can play a bit now. Santos is definitely a throwback, but in the few times I've seen him against us, he's been their weak link when we've pressed him or had players run at him.
From the ones in our league, there’s a few who would be good additions for us. Bolton have three. Santos would be a great addition if he’s actually fit. Nathan Baxter would be a great addition as well. Saw him at Hull a couple of times and is good at this level. Wouldn’t also be against a Gethin Jones return if we needed his position - something I don’t think we do. I see Peterborough have transfer listed Jack Sparkes. Again, not sure he would be a priority in terms of position but would be a good signing for us right now.
