Here is a picture of a Dundee United Retro shirt and it being modeled by a player who went on to bigger things, but who is he?

I had the pleasure of watching him during his Liverpool career.

Ach that was him on the way down after leaving the famous Dundee United. LOL

TBH I can't remember ever seeing him play for United. I may have done but was not aware of it as I was only around 9 years old when he left.

Looked a huge player not one to mess with.

I saw him at Elland Road playing for Liverpool against Leeds.I remember Tony Hateley taking a Peter Lorimer free kick smack in the face. After stumbling about for a few minutes they took him off.2-1 to Liverpool both goals scored by Chris Lawler.

I'm suprised that he lasted two minutes.

Players seemed to be made of sterner stuff in those days.

Ah those were the days that the current Leeds followers hanker after (well, those old enough).

I know it's fashionable, especially on here, to say "I hate Leeds" but let's be fair. Once Don Revie got his show on the road he produced some fantastic teams there with the likes of Lorimer, Clarke, Giles and Charlton. It wasn't always nice to watch but they were a proper top flight team.

Imagine how we would feel if we had to go from watching years of that kind of stuff to the years of stuff they have had recently? Plenty around here would be suicidal, definitely. We might have fallen a long way from OUR great days in the sun but we haven't fallen quite as far from grace as they have. I'm not a Leeds-lover - far from it - but I recognise greatness when I see it. The likes of Leeds, and Liverpool, had it in spades back then. But then this was before the age of the Carlos Kickaball phenomenon :D

Yeats and Joe Baker (Hibs, Arsenal, Forest) once had a set-to and Baker, 5ft 8 and probably 9 stone wet through, knocked him spark out. They were both sent off, Baker walking, Big Ron on a stretcher...

They certainly did. I can't imagine how a player like Jimmy Case or Graeme Souness would fair in the premier league these days.

Hmm So you don't like the Tangerine kit? Gotta say I've always loved it. A bit unique and individual.

TBH mate I've no idea why we changed other than when we represented Dallas Tornados in a tour of America in 1969 we wore their colours of Tangerine and Blue. The directors liked the Tangerine but Blue was a non starter what with the other lot wearing Dark Blue. So Tangerine and Black it was.
