    Everton play a second string generally in this competition. He'll be watching from the stand.

    I don't think Stones will play but it will be interesting to see if Holgate starts

    Stones won't play, he'll either be gone or rested. Nailed on he'll be in the ground in some capacity though. Holgate will play IMO, early chance for them to see him in a proper game, at a ground he knows well, against a level of opponent they know he can perform against. Can he stand out against it? A good performance could push himself into the 1st team squad, Everton a bit short in defence and Martinez not shy of playing young players.

    The reception for both will be markedly different I imagine.
