From the official site! 15/5/09 "Barnsley Football Club are delighted to announce that youngster Reuben Noble-Lazarus has put pen-to-paper on a two year scholarship agreement and a professional contract at Oakwell" 19/5/09 "He (R N-L) has been offered an Academy scholarship by the Tykes but has been training with Manchester United for the last two weeks. He is waiting to hear from the Old trafford club before deciding where his future lies" Wake up Rob! (zzz) It really isn't funny!
Thats not the point of the post. We were told last week that he had signed a contract - today Rob tells us he is waiting to hear from Man U before he makes a decision. Rob obviously wrote todays story a couple of weeks ago and has just posted it to-day without reading the full contents of what he had written!
I don't think it's him It's from a quote from somewhere else so I suppose they have outdated information. Could be wrong though!!
Although it was daft putting todays article on, it's written from someone else and has nothing to do with BFC. It was either written last week or whoever wrote it doesn't know he has signed a new deal!
My understanding based on being told by someone that may or may not know, is that a deal to take RNL to Man United has been agreed with £200k compensation coming to us. That is what I have heard, could be wrong.
RE: My understanding The way I heard it was that RNL has signed a two year scholarship and a years pro contract. Also told that Manchester Utd have done a deal with Barnsley FC where by they get first refusal after watching him develop through the Barnsley academy system. Barnsley FC are only trying to protect there investment in RNL and have done well to hold onto him so far. The club are just trying to do the right thing for Barnsley and making sure that he doesn't go anywhere on the cheap.
RE: My understanding sounds fairly plausible to me, dont see any harm in it at all, and if we get some kickbacks from Man U, could turn out to be a win win.
Agree They are doing an outstanding job in the academy and the rest of the coaching team from the manager down are all brilliant........FFS
I apologise to Rob Knowles as I only skimmed todays article and didnt realise he had taken it from another web-site. However still think that if he is taking a piece from another source that contains inaccuracies or out of date information then he should make that clear for thickos like me who are easily confused.
This is the best....... http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1661681,00.html A tiny article on a nobody ex player, but the page has at least a dozen advertisements on it.
